Teens and Social Networking

When it comes to new technology, Teenagers are the first to use it and social neworking isn't an exception. Teenagers use social sites like facebook and twitter almost everyday. Sites like facebook have some good things like keeping in touch over the summer and talking to others after school. Websites like this can also have the downs like people loosing social skills and less face-to-face contact.

I remember being in my kindergarten classroom having one of the faculty members call the teacher down saying it was something about the twin towers, I had no idea what was going on.

Share with us how you felt at the time of hearing about or seeing the tragedy unfold.

I was only like five when it all happened so all I remember was being confused and watching people run around the school in a panic.

Has the tragedy of 9/11 changed your life in any way? If so, how.

Yes it has, the airport security has become so strict, but for a good reason.

What does being an American and being Patriotic mean to you personally?
Describes the freedoms that you enjoy and maybe even take for granted as an American

The Internet was created by a company called DARPA back in the 60’s, it was created so people can transfer electronic files from one person to another.

No one controls the internet.

Who makes the rules that govern how the Internet is used?

For the most part, the internet is a “self-policed area, “meaning the users control it. The government does have some laws against certain things such as stealing music, pornography and hacking.

How has the Internet evolved?

The internet has grown immensely since it started with two computers back in the 60’s with simple file sharing.

How has the original design of the Internet affected its development?

The original design was where it was strictly file sharing, but now it’s a source of knowledge and entertainment.

The internet will be used in schools and stores a lot more in the future to come.

How do you see blogging as an important aspect of communication in today's world?

I see blogging as more of an individual newspaper so people can stay up-to-date with news about someone. Blogging may replace newspaper one day soon.

How does blogger compare with Facebook, MySpace, Twitter and other social networking sites?

Blogger is much different than most social networks. Blogger is more personal and allows you to type more characters.  It’s more like a daily journal rather than a social site.
